![]() Business Reuse FundWhat is the Business Reuse Fund? The Business Reuse Fund is a new fund for the community waste sector being managed by the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts (RSWT) on behalf of the Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). The Business Reuse Fund has £2 million to distribute in grant funding for 2006/7 as part of Defra's larger Business Resource Efficiency and Waste Initiative (BREW). There may also be an additional second year of funding for the Business Reuse Fund for 2007/8. BREW is funding numerous initiatives with the aim of helping businesses cut the costs of their waste disposal. Funding comes from Landfill Tax revenues. What is the aim of the Business Reuse Fund? The primary aim of the Business Reuse Fund is to reduce waste disposal costs to business by supporting the expansion of community sector reuse activities utilising business waste. Many community sector organisations are already working successfully with small and larger businesses to reduce their waste costs by reusing materials they would otherwise be paying to dispose of such as office furniture, PCs, waste wood or paint. The Business Reuse Fund will be supporting more of this work, which benefits both the businesses that generate the waste and the people on the receiving end of the goods for reuse. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL APPLICATION FORMS AND GUIDANCE NOTES HAVE BEEN REMOVED AS THE FUND IS NOW CLOSED TO NEW APPLICANTS. | |||||||||||
